Located in Hamburg’s St. Pauli quarter, Hoffmann Kahleyss Design was established in 2013. Today, founders Birgit Hoffmann and Christoph Kahleyss produce furniture designs and concepts in the intersection of interiors, exhibitions, showrooms, and photo shoots, giving them leading roles in shaping entire collections and identities for renowned interior brands across Europe.
Both designers are educated as industrial designers from the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel. Their approach to design is based on functionality without being uncaring; their pieces are characterised by elegance and by noteworthy balance – combining the soft and the streamlined, the decorative and the voluminous, the playful and the structured.
