Sketch is a journey into new Scandinavian interior. They are inspired by the power of good design to elevate our daily lives. Their Danish heritage dictates a simple, honest design approach, where good quality and usability are intrinsic. Sketch offers a collection of well-made products for the modern world; classics which will mellow and improve with age, and are destined to become favorites.

Here is the big difference

We use high quality solid wood for the frames, the structure is very strong, and tested for use in international markets from Australia to Sweden. Each piece is crafted with care by highly skilled experienced craftsmen using the best materials. Sketch sets themselves aside by their impeccable craftsmanship. The way a piece is constructed can contribute to it’s beauty, functionality and how long it will last. The joins and sturdiness of a piece will tell you a lot about its quality

Upholstered furniture

For a sofa or chair with removable cushions, unzip a seat cover and have a look inside. You should see a block of foam wrapped with dacron, cotton, or (for very high-end cushions) down, preferably with a protective inner cover (usually muslin).  Foam-only cushions are both less durable and less comfortable. If you’re buying new furniture, inquire after the density rating of the seat foam: you’re looking for 1.8 pounds or higher.

Solid Wood or Venneer... Which one is better?

The perceptions associated with the quality of solid wood and veneers are ones of much debate and the answers are far more complex than those thought of at first glance.

First we have to define what we mean by veneer. Veneer is a very thin panel of wood that can range from paper thin to around 5-6mm thick. A Veneer panel can be applied to anything from chip board, MDF (Medium Density Fiber Board) or even solid wood.
